Client Spotlight: Deborrah Paradowski

This month our athlete spotlight is on Deborrah Paradowski. Deb regularly trains with us on M/T/Th each week at 9:30 am. She is incredibly consistent and works very hard. We’re proud of you Deb!

Side note – she has incredible taste in Sci-Fi films!

When did you start training at Brentwood Barbell?

” I think it’s around 2 years now, I started after Lanie nagged me for a long, long time, LOL – was intimidated.”

How has training to be stronger changed your life?

“Training has made me so much stronger in my daily life – getting up and down from my low Italian furniture was becoming hard – I have bad knees, hips and shoulders.  Now the muscles are doing the work!  I can  carry my grandson and rough house, and my posture is improving, yay!  The main reason I started training was to help with my decreasing bone density, and the results have been more than I had hoped for, my numbers have increased, I’m delighted – without meds! “

What would you say to others considering strength training?

” Do it with a gym and staff who know what they are doing and tailor their training to each individual.   It’s hard work with tangible results, plus it’s fun! “

What are some recent PRs (personal bests) you’re proud of?

“I am amazed by the progress I have made and the weight I am moving.  My most recent lift (Rack Pull) was 250 lbs.  I certainly had no idea I was capable of picking up that much.”

What are some of your favorite things to do when you’re not training?

“You can check out some of my work on my website www.deborrahdaher.com  Being an artist and metalsmith, I am happiest and most engaged when doing any thing creative involving problem solving.   – that, or geeking out on Sci-Fi/Fantasy.”

Each month our spotlight series will focus on an athlete that is putting in a great effort and making our gym a better place to train! Our hope is that you’ll share this post with your friends and family or someone that you think could benefit from resistance training.
